Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: 12 to 12

Explanation

M²=0 implies im M⊂ker M,so rank M≤6. Rank–nullity gives n=rank M+6≤12. Equality is attained by six nilpotent 2×2 blocks [[0,1],[0,0]],whose total nullity is six. **12**.
