Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: (C) The price of an apple is greater than that of an onion.

Explanation

A valid comparison must compare a price with another price. “That of an onion” stands for “the price of an onion,” making the comparison parallel and grammatical. The first two options compare a price with the onion itself, and “more costlier” doubles the comparative. Thus **C**.
