Find the Laplace transform of $f(t)=t^2+2t+1$.
- $1/s^3+3/s^2+1/s$
- $4/s^3+4/s^2+1/s$
- $1/s^3+2/s^2+1/s$
- $2/s^3+2/s^2+1/s$

Show answer and explanation
Correct answer: (D) $2/s^3+2/s^2+1/s$
Explanation
Use linearity and $\mathcal L\{t^n\}=n!/s^{n+1}$. The three terms yield 2/s³, 2/s² and 1/s respectively. Their sum is D, for Re s > 0.
