A building occupies a 70×40 m plot with utilised FAR 1.5. Its average monthly electricity bill is₹294000 at₹7/kWh. Find Building Energy Index in kWh/m²/year, as an integer.

Correct answer: 120 to 120
Explanation
Built-up area is 70×40×1.5=4200 m². Monthly consumption is 294000/7=42000 kWh; annual consumption is 504000 kWh. Divide by 4200 to obtain 120 kWh/m²/year. Use FAR-counted floor area rather than plot area in the denominator.
