Which of the following process state transitions is/are NOT possible?

  1. Running to Ready
  2. Waiting to Running
  3. Ready to Waiting
  4. Running to Terminated

Correct answer: (B) Waiting to Running; (C) Ready to Waiting

Explanation

Running→Ready (preemption) and Running→Terminated are valid. A waiting process must first go to Ready before Running, and a Ready process cannot go directly to Waiting.
