If the number of sides resulting in a closed traverse is increased from three to four, the sum of the interior angles increases by

Correct answer: (B) 180°

Explanation

The sum of the interior angles of a closed traverse of $n$ sides is $(2n - 4) \times 90°$. For $n = 3$ this is $180°$ and for $n = 4$ it is $360°$, so it increases by $180°$.
