The determinant of a $4\times4$ matrix $A$ is 3. The value of the determinant of $2A$ is __________. (answer in integer)

Correct answer: 48
Explanation
For an $n\times n$ matrix, multiplying the matrix by a scalar $c$ multiplies the determinant by $c^n$. Since $A$ is $4\times4$, $$\det(2A)=2^4\det(A)=16\times3=48.$$ Hence the answer is 48.
