How many triangles are present in the given figure?

A parallelogram with both diagonals drawn. The midpoints of the four sides are joined to form an inner parallelogram.

Correct answer: (C) 20

Explanation

Treat the parallelogram as a square (counting is unchanged). It has both diagonals and the four lines joining the midpoints of adjacent sides. Counting every triangle whose three sides lie along these lines gives 20.
