If A says that his mother is the daughter of B’s mother, then how is B related to A?

Correct answer: (A) Uncle; (B) Aunt

Explanation

A's mother is the daughter of B's mother, so A's mother is B's sister. B is therefore A's maternal uncle if B is a man and A's maternal aunt if B is a woman. B cannot be A's father or brother.
