If each vowel in the word RESIDE is changed to its previous letter in the English alphabet and each consonant is changed to the next letter in the English alphabet, which one of the following options will be the third from the right?

Correct answer: (D) H
Explanation
Take the letters in turn: R (consonant) becomes S, E (vowel) becomes D, S becomes T, I (vowel) becomes H, D becomes E and E becomes D. The new word is S D T H E D. Counting from the right, the letters are D, E, H, so the third from the right is H.
