Correct answer: (B) $7\frac{2}{5}$

Explanation

Replace each symbol by its meaning: $8 + 7 \times 8 \div 40 - 2$. By the usual order, $7 \times 8 \div 40 = \frac{56}{40} = 1.4$, so the value is $8 + 1.4 - 2 = 7.4 = 7\frac{2}{5}$.
