Consider an enterprise network with two Ethernet segments, a web server and a firewall, connected via three routers as shown below. What is the number of subnets inside the enterprise network?

Correct answer: (C) 6

Explanation

Each router-to-router, router-to-firewall, router-to-server and router-to-Ethernet link is a separate subnet. That gives firewall–left router, left router–Ethernet 1, firewall–top router, top router–web server, top router–right router, and right router–Ethernet 2, for 6 subnets.
