The maximum vehicle count in any five-minute interval of the peak hour is 160; total hourly flow is 1000 vehicles. Find the five-minute peak-hour factor, to two decimal places.

Explanation

An hour contains twelve five-minute intervals. Peak-hour factor is $$\mathrm{PHF}=\frac{1000}{12(160)}=0.520833.$$ Rounded answer **0.52**.
