Hema is 5 years older than twice Hari’s age. Suresh is 13 years younger than ten times Hari’s age. Suresh is three times as old as Hema. How old is Hema?

Correct answer: (D) 19

Explanation

Let Hari’s age be h. Hema is $2h+5$ and Suresh is $10h-13$. Set $10h-13=3(2h+5)$, giving h = 7. Thus Hema is $2(7)+5=19$ (D).
