Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: (A) 5

Explanation

Singularity requires determinant zero: $x(x-5)-(-3)(2)=x^2-5x+6=(x-2)(x-3)=0$. The possible values are 2 and 3. Their sum is **5,A**,also obtainable directly from the quadratic’s coefficient of x.
