Show answer and explanation
Correct answer: (D) Superheated vapor
Explanation
The compressor receives vapor and raises its pressure and temperature. In the usual vapor-compression cycle, the discharge is above the saturation temperature at condenser pressure and is therefore superheated vapor. Condensation to liquid takes place subsequently in the condenser. Hence **D**.
