  1. P–II, Q–I, R–III
  2. P–III, Q–II, R–I

Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: (B) P–III, Q–II, R–I

Explanation

The overall Solvay soda-ash reaction is III. Hydroformylation, or the oxo process, adds CO and hydrogen to an alkene to form an aldehyde, II. The paper associates soap formation with I, giving R–I and matching B. Strictly, I is fatty-acid neutralization; saponification proper is alkaline ester hydrolysis. The intended matching and the historical reaction wording are preserved.
