For $f(x,y,z)=(x^2+y^2-2z^2)(y^2+z^2)$, the partial derivative with respect to x at x=2,y=1,z=3 is ________.

Show answer and explanation Correct answer: 40 to 40
Explanation In a partial derivative with respect to x, y and z are held constant. Only the first factor depends on x.
Thus $\partial f/\partial x=2x(y^2+z^2)$. At (2,1,3), the value is $2(2)(1+9)=$ **40**.
