Show answer and explanation
Correct answer: (C) 1.5
Explanation
Newton’s formula is x₁=x₀−f(x₀)/f′(x₀). At1, f=−1 and f′=2, so x₁=1−(−1)/2=1.5, C. This is one iterate, not the fully converged square root.
