Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: (A) Smaller incentives produce greater attitude change.

Explanation

A small reward provides less external justification for freely performing counterattitudinal behaviour. The resulting dissonance can be reduced by shifting one’s attitude toward the speech. A large reward provides an external explanation, reducing this pressure. Thus A is the sole keyed selection; the theory does not imply that every participant changes identically.
