A solid circular column has diameter 300 mm and effective length 3 m. Find slenderness ratio, as an integer.

Correct answer: 40 to 40

Explanation

For a solid circular section, radius of gyration r=√(I/A)=d/4=75 mm. Effective length is 3000 mm. Slenderness isLe/r=3000/75=40. Diameter itself is not the radius of gyration.
