Out of the following four sentences, select the most suitable sentence with respect to grammar and usage.

  1. I will not leave the place until the minister does not meet me.
  2. I will not leave the place until the minister doesn't meet me.
  3. I will not leave the place until the minister meet me.
  4. I will not leave the place until the minister meets me.

Correct answer: (D) I will not leave the place until the minister meets me.

Explanation

"Until" already carries a negative sense, so the clause after it must be positive, which rules out "does not" and "doesn't". The subject "the minister" is singular and the verb is in the present tense, so it takes "meets".
