Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: (A) X

Explanation

Number the 8 seats 0 to 7 going clockwise, and put T at seat 0. T's neighbours are Y and V. U sits next to Y, with S on U's other side, so one arrangement is Y at 7, U at 6, S at 5 and V at 1. Z is third to the left of T, which is seat 3, and also second to the right of S, which is also seat 3, so Z is at seat 3. W and X take seats 2 and 4. T and W are not opposite, and seat 4 is opposite seat 0, so W is at seat 2 and X is at seat 4. The order is T, V, W, Z, X, S, U, Y. The person third to the left of V (seat 1) is at seat 4, which is X.
