When a supercritical stream enters a mild-sloped (M) channel section, the type of flow profile would become _____.

Correct answer: (C) M3

Explanation

On a mild slope the normal depth is above the critical depth. A supercritical stream has a depth below the critical depth, which is also below the normal depth, so it lies in zone 3, and the profile is M3 (the depth rises towards a hydraulic jump).
