Spray dryers have many advantages. Which one of the following is NOT an advantage of a typical spray dryer?

  1. Has short drying time
  2. Produces hollow spherical particles
  3. Has high heat efficiency
  4. Is suitable for heat sensitive materials

Correct answer: (C) Has high heat efficiency

Explanation

A spray dryer dries within seconds, gives light, hollow, spherical particles and is suitable for heat-sensitive products because the droplets stay cool while they evaporate. Its thermal efficiency is low, because a large quantity of hot air leaves with the product, so high heat efficiency is not an advantage.
