Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: (D) The mean of Section A and Section B are the same, the standard deviation is different

Explanation

Section A's total is $2(12 + 11 + 10 + 9 + 8) = 100$ and Section B's is $2(18 + 15 + 10 + 5 + 2) = 100$, so both means are 10. Section B's marks are much more spread out around 10 (deviations up to 8, against 2 for Section A), so its standard deviation is larger. Only D is true.
