Details of prices of two items P and Q are presented in the table: P has cost ₹5,400, marked price ₹5,860; Q has profit 25%, marked price ₹10,000 (cost not given). The ratio of cost of item P to cost of item Q is 3:4. Discount is the difference between the marked price and the selling price. Profit % = (Selling price - Cost)/Cost x 100. The discount on item Q, as a percentage of its marked price, is ______

Correct answer: (C) 10

Explanation

Cost of Q = 5400x4/3 = 7200. SP of Q = 1.25x7200 = 9000. Discount = 1000, which is 10% of 10,000.
