Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: (A) Back bearing equals fore bearing ±180°.; (B) Whole-circle bearing 270° has reduced bearing 90° NW.; (C) The water boundary of a calm pond represents a contour line.

Explanation

Reversing a line changes bearing by 180°, so A is true. A 270° whole-circle bearing is due west, expressible as N90°W, making B true. A still-water shoreline has constant elevation, so C is true. Stadia distance is proportional to staff intercept; bringing the staff nearer decreases the intercept, so D is false. **A, B and C**.
