Four points $P(0,1),Q(0,-3),R(-2,-1),S(2,-1)$ are the vertices of a quadrilateral. Its enclosed area is

Explanation

The vertical diagonal has length 4 and the horizontal diagonal length 4. They are perpendicular, so area is $\tfrac12(4)(4)=8$, **C**.
