Show answer and explanation
Correct answer: (A) $\frac{20}{3}$
Explanation
The 1 A through the 3 Ω resistor flows from the 9 V node down to the junction, so the junction voltage is $9-1\times3=6$ V. The branch from the 8 V source to that junction is 2 Ω + 1 Ω in series, so its current is $(8-6)/3=2/3$ A. Then $V_X=8-2\times\frac23=\frac{20}{3}$ V. The network to the right does not affect this.
