Show answer and explanation
Correct answer: (C) choke
Explanation
The choke is the smallest effective cross-section in the gating system. It limits the discharge for the available metallostatic head and therefore regulates pouring rate. Hence **choke, C**. Runners distribute metal and the pouring basin receives it, but neither is necessarily the controlling minimum section.
