A CDMA system has N = 8 chips per signature. Find the maximum users assignable mutually orthogonal signature sequences.

Explanation
Each8chip signature is a vector in an8dimensional signal space. A set of mutually orthogonal nonzero vectors is linearly independent, so it contains at most8vectors. An8×8Walsh-Hadamard set attains this bound. Therefore the maximum is **8users**.
