In sinusoidal AM without overmodulation, envelope maximum and minimum are 3 V and 1 V. Find modulation index µ.

Correct answer: 0.45 to 0.55
Explanation
For ordinary AM without overmodulation, Emax=Ac(1+µ) and Emin=Ac(1−µ). Dividing their difference by their sum gives µ=(Emax−Emin)/(Emax+Emin)=(3−1)/(3+1)=**0.5**.
