Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: (A) P–1; Q–4

Explanation

Polymer melts swell on leaving the die because elastic recovery increases transverse dimensions and can alter the contour. A circular opening 1 gives circular product P. A square product Q is obtained by compensating for nonuniform die swell with the shaped opening 4, rather than assuming the opening must already be square. Thus **P–1, Q–4: A**.
