The figure below is supposed to show three non-overlapping shapes – one oval and two triangles. Which one of the following figures P, Q, R, or S fits the missing portion indicated by ‘?’ and completes the oval and the two triangles?

Correct answer: (A) P

Explanation

Placing each option in the box, only P continues all three shapes across the border: the oval is completed smoothly at the top-left, the upper-right triangle is completed, and the lower triangle gets its apex inside the box. In Q the lower triangle piece does not meet the visible part, in R the upper triangle is not continued correctly, and in S the oval is over-extended.
