Correct answer: (A) flatter

Explanation

Talk, shout, scream rise in intensity. Please, flatter, pander likewise rise from mild to extreme in the sense of pleasing someone: to flatter is to praise excessively, and to pander is to indulge excessively. "Flutter", "fritter" and "frizzle" have no such meaning.
