Correct answer: (A) 5.34

Explanation

Set O=(0,0), so P=(0,−2) and N=(1/√2,−1/√2). Then M=(1/√2,4−1/√2). The squared MP distance is 1/2+(6−1/√2)²=37−6√2≈28.515. Its square root is about 5.34 km, A.
