Show answer and explanation
Correct answer: 4.9 to 5.1
Explanation
Let the current through the series $R_2$–$R_3$ branch be i. Then $v_x=5i$ and the junction voltage at the dependent source is $(3+5)i=8i$.
KCL there gives $(60-8i)/5+0.04(5i)=i$. Multiply by 5: $60-8i+i=5i$, so $60=12i$.
Therefore the branch current, and hence the current through $R_2$, has magnitude **5 A**.
