Consider a superheterodyne receiver tuned to 600 kHz. If the local oscillator feeds a 1000 kHz signal to the mixer, the image frequency (in integer) is ________ kHz.

Correct answer: 1400
Explanation
The intermediate frequency is $f_{LO}-f_s=1000-600=400$ kHz. The image frequency is $f_s+2f_{IF}=600+800=1400$ kHz.
