Show answer and explanation
Correct answer: (A) d
Explanation
Use alphabetical positions with n=14. Between n and t(position20) lie five letters; between h(position8) and n also lie five. The lower pair must each have nine intervening letters from n: x is24, while the opposite position is14−10=4, which is d. Thus A. The5 and9 count intervening letters, not the endpoint difference.
