Mode attributes(cost₹, in-vehicle min, out-of-vehicle min) are rail(20, 20, 10), bus(10, 40, 7.5), paratransit(15, 35, 5). Utility U=−0.5cost−0.3in-vehicle−0.4out-of-vehicle. Using multinomial logit, find bus-choice probability, to two decimals.

Correct answer: 0.30 to 0.34

Explanation

Rail utility is−10−6−4=−20. Bus utility is−5−12−3=−20. Paratransit utility is−7.5−10.5−2=−20. Equal utilities give equal exponentiated weights, so bus probability is 1/(1+1+1)=1/3≈0.33. No separate mode constants are supplied.
