The Thevenin equivalent voltage, $V_{TH}$, in V (rounded off to 2 decimal places) of the network shown below, is ________.

Correct answer: 13.80 to 14.20

Explanation

The 4 V source directly fixes the voltage of the left node, since the $3\ \Omega$ resistor only shunts that source. The terminals are open, so the whole 5 A of the current source flows through the $2\ \Omega$ resistor towards the source, and no current flows in the right $3\ \Omega$ resistor. So $V_{TH}=4+5\times2=14$ V.
