Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: (D) His latest movie was not commercially successful.

Explanation

A sentence of the form "if X had been true, Y would have happened" speaks of something that did not happen. So the movie was not a commercial success, and the actor did not make enough money. Options A, B and C do not follow, because B and C say the opposite and A promises something the sentence does not.
