Three different views of a dice are shown in the figure below. The piece of paper that can be folded to make this dice is

three views of a dice, each showing a top face and two side faces. View 1 shows 5 on top with 4 and 1 on the sides, view 2 shows 4 on top with 6 and 3, and view 3 shows 2 on top with 6 and 5. Below are four options A to D, each a net of six numbered squares made of a column of four squares with one square attached on each side.

Correct answer: (A) Option A in the figure

Explanation

Faces that appear together in a view are neighbours. Face 5 is next to 4, 1, 6 and 2, so its opposite face is 3. Face 4 is next to 5, 1, 6 and 3, so its opposite is 2. Then the remaining pair is 6 and 1. The opposite pairs are (5, 3), (4, 2) and (6, 1). In a net made of a column of four squares with one square on each side, the squares that are two apart in the column are opposite, and the two side squares are opposite. Option A has the column 1, 4, 6, 2 (pairs 1-6 and 4-2) and the side squares 5 and 3, which fits. In B the column has 1 and 2 two apart, in C it has 1 and 2 again, and in D it has 4 and 3 in opposite places, so none of them fits.
