The output of a 2-input multiplexer is connected back to one of its inputs as shown in the figure. [Figure: 2-input MUX with inputs 0 and 1, select S, output Q; Q is fed back to input 0.] Match the functional equivalence of this circuit to one of the following options.

Correct answer: (B) D Latch
Explanation
With Q fed back, the output equals the data input when S selects it (transparent) and holds its value otherwise. This is level-sensitive storage, i.e. a D latch.
