A polygon is convex if, for every pair of points, P and Q belonging to the polygon, the line segment PQ lies completely inside or on the polygon. Which one of the following is NOT a convex polygon?

  1. A chevron / arrow-shaped polygon with a notch cut into one side (figure)
  2. A triangle (figure)
  3. A square/rectangle (figure)
  4. A trapezium (figure)

Explanation

The chevron has a reflex (inward) angle, so a segment between two points can leave the polygon. Triangle, rectangle and trapezium are convex.
