A propped cantilever EF carries a unit moving load. Using the positive-shear convention shown, which qualitative influence line describes shear at G?

Explanation
Let the load position be a from the fixed end and span L. Compatibility gives the prop reaction $R_F=a^2(3L-a)/(2L^3)$. The shear at G is $-R_F$ for a load to its left and $1-R_F$ to its right. Thus the influence line is curved, has a unit upward jump at G, and vanishes at E and F: **B**.
