GATE 2021 CE (CE2) – Question 50

Show answer and explanation
Correct answer: 63.5 to 63.9
Explanation
Initial vertical speed is $v_y=50\sin45^\circ$. At the highest point vertical speed is zero, so $h=v_y^2/(2g)=2500(1/2)/(19.62)=63.7105$ m. **Answer: 63.71 m**. Horizontal velocity does not contribute to the rise.
