In one hour, a flexible pavement carries 80 two-axle buses with each axle load 40 kN and 160 two-axle trucks with front and rear axle loads 40 and 80 kN. Find equivalent standard axle repetitions according to IRC 37:2012.

Explanation

Use an 80 kN standard axle and fourth-power load equivalency. Buses contribute $80(2)(40/80)^4=10$ repetitions. Trucks contribute $160[(40/80)^4+1]=170$. Total is **180, A**.
