Consider the following sample of numbers: 9, 18, 11, 14, 15, 17, 10, 69, 11, 13 The median of the sample is

Correct answer: (A) 13.5

Explanation

Sort the sample: 9,10,11,11,13,14,15,17,18,69.

For ten values, the median is the average of the fifth and sixth: (13+14)/2=**13.5, A**.

The large outlier affects the mean much more than the median.
